Ever since I first got my camera, the Canon XH A1, I really haven’t taken full advantage of all the features until recently. So in this post i have compiled all the tests that I have posted online over the past year, in order or date shot from old to new, and included a short description of what i believe to have done wrong and how to better my skills for next time.

I am actually very happy with the way this came out. Although only 10 seconds long the quality of this piece is very good, the audio was added in post, there is a slight sign of depth-of-field (even if accidental), and I did only a tiny bit of color correction.

I felt that I could have done more with the iris on this piece and utilize the manual focus more on this piece. Some pros on this piece is that I didn’t use any color correction and basically just started shooting randomly.

O MY… WHERE TO BEGIN. I used the easy preset mode the entire time where I should have used the manual or night mode. I left auto gain on, which was a problem on all the previous examples as well, but more clear here. Lack of planning and shooting at night also caused problems. Over all I am happy with this because I was using the camera for a real project for the first time with no experience or planning, but if I could redo the whole thing I would.

The only thing i really want to improve on from the video is reproducing some of these shots in a controlled setting and not so sporadic.
