Have you ever caught something out of your eye that complete moved you so emotionally that your mood was completely changed? This morning I was watching a documentary on the type font “Helvetica” (I’m interested in typography) and near the end they had some random b-roll of Helvetica in action, as the did through out the entire film. But this time something caught my eye. Six simple words shined out at me and were imprinted in me and change they way my day was about to unfold.

This image was probably only on the screen for maybe 20 seconds, but for some reason they seemed to have explained everything that has been on my mind for sometime now. So with this new piece of reference material implanted in my brain i went to work on a rendition of my own and came up with the following.

The last image is a still from the film. I take no credit for the words or the original typography. I only attempted to improve upon the original to better convey the feelings I had when i first saw the words. Also, when I was making these posters I didn’t have the still as a reference and went off of memory which made things a lot more fun. I hope you enjoy these and I hope to make some more orignal print work in the future.

A Short Love Story

This piece by Carlos Lascano (http://bit.ly/38i8x) is very inspirational and moving piece. I think what puts this video apart from other motion pieces, other then the flawless fusion of 2d animation, motion graphics, and stop-motion, is Carlos’s attention to detail. From butterflies entering and exiting a scene to dust floating through the air, Carlos’s “A Love Story” has touched me on a very personal level. Love is a crazy adventure.
